This is the debut of valerieyan's creation to the public and I was glad I was there with her for the full 2 days, helping her (in my own way cause I know nuts about art & craft). This was the first time I've ever attended any creative bazaar and it was really a fun experience.

First of all, please take some time to visit Valerie's blog to view her amazing creations: ValerieYan's Creation

What is C+C? This is a new word that is about to lead the trend of the new words.
C+C starts a new creative platform for Malaysian youths to have a truly creative space, display and share your creative ideas and design. Whether it is a little creative household supply, a work of art or even a picture worth a thousand words, C+C will be your creative platform, where you can certainly liberate and express your creativity. You have been to the yellow brand furniture shop, you’ve seen enough of cool idea of foreigner, and you thought they were cool and great? How come such idea has never inspired by you? C+C is bearing this mission, hoping to educate more creative youngster. We aim to discover more creative people all around Malaysia, let everyone make this special event a big success! Let us practice the thought of rising environment protection awareness in the medium of innovative. C+C hopes people who join the contest can try to connect recycle idea in their work. All of us have the responsible to protect our environmental!

Valerie's creations are all hand made clay craft. She displayed her ready made items on these days but her creations are not limited to only these. Shall you require her to customize anything, she can do it for you, of course with a cost. Need something special as a gift for a special occasion, drop by her blog, view her work to gain confidence, and lastly, contact her for a fast response on your need.

I'll stop the hard sell now and carry on with my own story :)

Valerie got a booth and shared it with her coursemate, Priscilla. All rental from the booth goes into the few selected charity organizations. Priscilla's work involves stitching. For more information, you can visit her blog: rose❤mints

Anyway, we arrive Time Square at around 10am, on the first day to register and after that, set up the booths. The event officially starts at 11am but most of the participants had already finished setting up so we hurried and decorated ours. Since it was the first time we had ever participated in an creative bazaar, our booth seems "ordinary", compared to most others. However, the items that we had displayed were definitely on par with others, or maybe even better (self encouragement XD). On the second day, things seem to be easier as we only need to set up the booth as the previous day.

On a rough estimation, I suppose there were easily 50-60 booths, most were selling hand made craft and there were a few booths set up by charity organizations to instill the correct mindset to help save the Earth. The crowd was simply amazing.

The crowd...

Since I was at Valerie's booth most of the time helping her, I didn't take any photos of other booths although I did spend a little time walking around to check out works by others. As I mentioned, this was the first time I attended an creative bazaar and there were so many things that I haven't seen before. I guess I'll be attending creative bazaar more often after this.

The organizer had also arranged performances and games to entertain the crowd on both days. These included performances by local artists, talk show hosted by DJ/VJ from 8TV, dance performance, martial art performance etc. The high school I attended, Chong Hwa Independent High School sent out students as well to perform drama, singing, dancing as well as Wu Shu. Taekwondo performance was done by Zest Martial Arts Academy, arranged by my Taekwondo senior, Mr. Andy Low.

I think the title has explained all. This is the Sunshine Girl Competition held by Sin Chew Daily and it is already the final round. I went not only to see the performance by these finalist but also I was attracted by the photography competition sponsored by Canon. The criteria was simple, all you need to do was to snap photos of the contestants, develop it in 4R size and submit. These are my entries and wish me luck.

2nd runner up - She was my 1st pick because I like her cheerful look and song

Venue: Renaissance Hotel, Jalan Ampang

First of all I would like to thank Barca for giving me the chance to cover this event with him. I truly enjoyed the event - besides shooting I got to watch the performances too, though no food and I only got to drink a glass of water for the entire 6 hour session.

The prom was held in the Ballroom in Renaissance Hotel, Jalan Ampang. Around 350 people attended the prom.

Well, since this is a masquerade night, of course we were expecting lots of masked man/woman around. Get ready people.

And I present to you the best mask I saw in the event...

The prom started off with the usual speeches as well as a champagne popping session.

Then it came to what it was being called as the "Light Show". The lights were all dimmed.

Then it came down to the singing performance by the student committee. They performed 2 songs, of which I can remember only 1 song - "I Gotta Feeling" by Black Eyed Peas.

Throughout the night there were performances on stage - Singing, dancing, guitar, saxophone, magic etc. The saxophone performance was my favourite among all.

This was a prom night so obviously there was a Prom King & Queen selection session. The theme for Prom King & Queen was to do with air service, so they all dressed up as air stewardess or pilot as what they would imagine themselves to be. They will need to do a cat walk for their entrance and a performance of their choice to impress the judges.

Performance by the Prom King & Queen candidates

Yes... He can dance similarly as MJ

This girl was my favourite pick. Too bad she only got 2nd place. She can dance!

Magic show by Prom King candidates

Another thing that got everyone all excited was the lucky draw session. The grand winner walked away with a 2D/1N stay voucher at Renaissance Hotel. Though I prefer the 2nd prize - a DVD player.

After the lucky draw, of course it was back to the highlight of the night - Announcement of the result for Prom King & Queen.

Final Four (final for both Prom King & Queen)

And I present to you the Prom King & Queen of the night

Date: 8th November 2009
Venue: Bandar Utama Central Park

I was lucky enough to be able to shoot in a special portrait session - dog portrait. This event was organized by "love dog club" from Cari forum (www.cari.com.my) and I was told about it by a member in myphotocity (www.myphotocity.com) - November, to shoot her pet The other members who got invited were Jong Seng, Ben, Wisely, Mika and bluewind. Jolinda and I were talking on facebook about this and she decided to join the fun as well.

This event was meant to gather dog lovers along with their beloved pet dogs as well as to "celebrate" the "birthday of their pets. How lucky is it to be a pet nowadays...

I reached the venue at around 9.30am and met up with Jong Seng and Jolinda. Only until then I realized that dog owners would bring their dogs here for a walk every weekend. At least now I know where to look for nice dogs in the future. Saw a lot of dogs around - Rottweiler, Husky, Labrador, Retrievers, Pug etc. Didn't get to see a single Daschund here though... I miss my late Nini and Daschund - Both Daschund breed.

Karen later sms'ed me and told me that he would join in the fun. Too bored at home I guess. Of course, everyone's welcome..Though I wasn't the organizer, but yeah, the more the merrier.

Bear Bear, name of November's pet dog, a Shitshu breed. The organizer made a muffin with name of the dog on it for every dog. How nice is that...

Here's Bear Bear...

November tied Bear Bear's hair with nice colourful rubber bands

Bear Bear was running around a lot, in addition of that, there were easily more than 30 dogs there. It's really difficult to get a proper shot of her full body - either it's blurred or the angle is just not nice. I decided to shoot from low angle to emphasized mainly on Bear Bear's facial expression. All this by using 7D's superb focussing speed and 8fps burst *free advertising for Canon*

I'll do less talking and let the photos do the talking instead.

*wink*

This doesn't look like a dog... A rock star maybe?

"I'm Hungry..."

"And thirsty too"

I've shot a couple of dogs as well but not much. Here are a few of them.

Brown Husky with transparent blue eyes

Pug...

Golden Retriever... Finger licking good

Let's jog!!!

2 lovely sisters I met there with their dogs...

Group photo of the participants with their beloved pet in this gathering

Finally a group photos of us from myphotocity forum. From left:Jong Seng, Wesley, Ben, Mika, Bluewind and myself.

After this session, I realized that pet shooting is as difficult as shooting kids... Although challenging and tiring but it was really fun. I hope I'd have a chance next time again.
