Back from my 3 day Cambodia trip yesterday noon. Was an enjoyable trip together Han Yuen, Kian Tat and Jian Wen. Time and money spent but I brought back loads of happy memory and of course, photos!!

Would love to process these photos ASAP but I still have 1 set of wedding photographs in my backlog. Will try to clear everything during this long Christmas weekend. Once I'm done I will quickly update my travel blog regarding this trip while the memory is still fresh... Though I felt sorry for my Japan trip that I haven't finished updating it, and the trip was during May. Will update it as soon as I have the time to. Like the saying, better be late than never.

Monday (30/11/2009) night, while I was parking my car into my house compound, I looked up the sky and I saw this very nice moon with a amazing beautiful phenomenon - there was a light ring around it. I was amazed and quickly parked my car, rushed into my room to grab my camera and tripod.

I knew I needed something wide to be able to capture the scene so obviously my Canon EOS 5D was my choice. Tried to pair it up with the lense I recently fell in love with - Canon EF24mm f1.4L but it still wasn't wide enough. Since I've sold my UWA lense (EF17-40mm f4L USM) I had to resort to the widest lense I've got - Tokina 10-17mm fisheye. Surprisingly, The view and angle that I got with this lense was to my liking. Here are 2 photos to share with everyone.

In the 1st photo, the cloud and the light ring almost formed a chinese "Ba Gua"/"Yin Yang" symbol.

In the 2nd photo, I laid down low to capture the scene where I can show the moon shining birghtly upon our land.

Last night (2/11/2009), I was hoping to see the same thing again but I wasn't that lucky. So I just took a photo of the moon, in a way how many people like to capture the moon.

Since the cloud around the moon was brightly illuminated by the moon, I figured that I should try to frame the cloud into my photo as well so this is what I got. I kinda like this photo because it looks like armageddon to me :D

But still nothing beats this apocalypse or end-of-the-world photo - the Blood Moon. It reminds me of one of the Magic: the Gathering cards :D

Obviously the last photo was tweaked - just some minor adjustment in LightRoom.

At last, not to forget another nice phenomenon I saw last year - The Smilling Moon

I'll definitely continue my quest to capture more photos of our beautiful Mrs. Moon.
